Wild Calling! Dog Food Review from the Wild Man! #TheArtofNutrition

This post is sponsored by Wild Calling! and the BlogPaws Professional Pet Blogger Network. I am being compensated for helping spread the word about the Wild Calling! Pet Food, but Johann The Dog only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. Wild Calling! is not responsible for the content of this article.

I've always been a wild kinda guy....hiking seven miles up Blood Mountain, running first place snooker runs in agility at 10 years old, herding birds till my tongue hangs out, and running crazy chasing Rach and Gracie around the cabin...over and over and over.

I, like my Mum, love being active. To be active I need super good nutrition, with all the necessary and important ingredients to keep my body strong and healthy to enjoy all the things I want to enjoy.

So Mum and I were really interested when the folks at Wild Calling!®, a new brand of dog and cat food from the Petersen family in Greeley, Colorado, wanted to send us some of their new food to try and evaluate.

So what did I do? Yep, I dug in!

Oh, yeah...now we're barking!
We received two of their new foods....their pawsome single source protein food, the Western Plains Stampede®, which is just one of several of their single source protein foods. These are are great for dogs with sensitivities and perfect for rotational diets like we practice. They also sent us their GRASSLAND™ canned dog food that is 96% Buffalo. What did I just say? Yep, Buffalo.

Talk about yummy! I kept bugging Mum for more.

More please!
Wild Calling! is a family owned company that is highly committed to proper and wonderful nutrition for dogs and cats. Quality is their top concern, and they believe in using the highest quality ingredients, all with hormone and antibiotic-free meat, poultry and fish. Meat and protein rich, they believe in grain free nutrition, as we do. And it's made in the US!

Oh....thanks Mum, I wanted some more of that!
Thanks for allowing us the opportunity to share this new dog (and cat) food with you, and the philosophy of the Wild Calling company! I, along with Rach and Gracie, love the food and can't wait to have more, especially of that Buffalo, OMD!

Beep, beep, beep....Rach masters back up at a distance!

Rach loves learning new tricks!

We've been working on this one for a little while. Teaching back up from a distance has been difficult for me and Gracie, but Rach got it right away.

First Mum started by teaching him very close, with him facing her. Then she stepped into him just a little and when he backed up she clicked, said beep, beep, and threw a treat between his legs (this is key in getting the distance she's discovered over the years).

Then when he started understanding that the 'beep, beep' and click meant to back up she started increasing the distance, always throwing a treat to him, instead of having him come back to Mum for a treat (again, this is key to get the distance).

Once he really got it down, he started doing the 'throw his head up and barking a little,' silly boy! But Mum thinks it's cute.

She then had him increase and increase the distance, and then working with him in different places, like down this hall, through the kitchen, upstairs, and outside. Now even though this video shows him backing up about 15', he can actually do about 30' feet now outside.

Check it out!
