Why icy ponds, lakes, rivers and dogs don't mix!

I'll never forget this video I saw on the news last year when we were in Indianapolis. Some very cool firefighters in Indianapolis saved Biscuit from the icy river.

We've been real careful around our property here in Tennessee this Winter. There are three ponds on the property, and when it gets cold, they ice up! Mum always has us leashed up, especially around the ponds. 'Cause this is what I like to do, go ice skating!


Not even hip high rain boots on Mum could save me out there, in that deep cold water if I got stuck.

BTW, Gracie doesn't like it when I try to go out and ice skate on the pond, she grunts when I do and paws at the ice. Maybe she knows something I don't...It's just not safe out there!!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

We had a really nice surprise for Christmas when we woke up this morning. We got snow!!! And this is the first time in over 20 years that there has been a white Christmas here on the mountain. Guess we brought it with us from up north!

We took a nice walk in the pasture since it was just cold enough to snow at 32 degrees. And warm enough to have lots of fun.

After our walk, we opened presents (more on that later), ate and took a little nap with Mum. Then we took off to play at our friends house (more on that later, too).

When we drove down the lane we saw the mountain still had a lot more snow, even though it had melted more down in our cove of the mountain. You can see all the pine trees and cypress tree, still covered in snow.

Once we got to our friends (we've got lots more photos to share this coming week) house, Mum took a nice little Holiday photo of me and Gracie.

Merry Christmas to all those who celebrate!!!! We wish you a pawsome time with family and friends and a super great New Year!

Just a little snow...and a little ice...

The weather the past few days has been wintry!

Earlier in the week we got some snow, not much and definitely not what we're used to back at our old home.

Then it got super cold, so we couldn't stay out too long, but we got a few pics.

I'm on the verge of a shiver...and Gracie is looking for deer, again!

Then we woke up this morning and everything was covered in ice! Made for a challenging potty time early this morning. Later in the day it warmed up to almost 40 degrees and we got in a nice walk this evening.

My blue harness is off to the repair shop after an encounter with Gracie's teeth. So I had to don my back up harness. I was so bright, you had to wear shades!!

With all this winter weather here, Mum's beginning to think we didn't move south enough, BOL! We are ready for that nice Caribbean cruise, fur sure!
