Orchids, one of Mum's favorite flowers!

Mum loves flowers, she has them all over the yard and in the house.

Before she got me she was 'ate up' with orchids. They aren't the easiest plants to take care of, but she managed to save a couple of them and she still has 'em.

One of the keys to healthy orchids, is getting a good one from the get go! The ones she bought at a discount home improvement stores didn't make it. But the spring after she got me, she went to an orchid show and picked up a nice one! We still like to watch it get new leaves and watch it get a bloom stem.

Buying them from good florists or high end gardening stores will increase your odds in keeping them alive, along with the obligatory fertilizer and watering (with rainwater)!
