This week is National Poison Prevention week. So we thought it was a great time to bring awareness to all those dangers out there for us pups!
The ASPCA website has a great page devoted to keep your pup safe. They are the premier animal poison control center in North America, the APCC is a great resource for any animal poison-related emergencies, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
I have to admit that we've used their wonderful hotline on one occasion when Gracie got into something she shouldn't have. And they helped us a lot, keeping her from getting sick and suffering ill affects.
If you think that your pet may have ingested a potentially poisonous substance, make the call that can make all the difference: (888) 426-4435. A $60 consultation fee may be applied to your credit card.
They also have a free Pet Safety Pack that you can order from their website. We ordered it recently and are really glad we have all their info handy. The kit includes a pet rescue window decal to alert rescue personnel that pets are inside your home. The pack also includes an ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center magnet—a great way to keep the APCC's toll-free emergency number handy at all times!
When you get a chance stop by and visit some of their great resource articles, including:
