Hurricane Gustav bears down on the Gulf!

As Hurricane Gustav bears down on the Gulf Coast, I can't help but think about the animals so tragically effected by Hurricane Katrina.

Much preparation is currently underway in the Gulf area for animals.

To keep folks informed, we're blogging about the animal evacuations efforts in preparation and throughout the storm over at Rescue Me - my blog devoted to helping pups find their forever homes. If you are looking for information on animal and pet evacuations in the Gulf area head on over there to keep up-to-date.

Gracie and I are sending our doggie prayers for all the humans and animals that are evacuating and preparing for the expected massive storm.

  1. Thankfully, they are allowing people with pets to evaluate together this time. Here's hoping everyone gets to safety in time and the storm isn't as bad as Katrina was.

  3. Thanks for putting this info on your blog, that's great of you! My Mom says she'd never leave without me and all her buddies. We can swim really well, so if it floods we've got that taken care of! (Mom: Rudy you're really funny) One of my Bedlington buds lives in Gulfport MS and survived Katrina, so I imagine they're getting ready for Gustav.

Hey congrats on that CGC! Awesome! When I took it I had trouble with the grooming part 'cause my favorite agility teacher did it and I was so excited to see her. I was three years old and even more excitable than I am now... if that's possible! Even so I managed to pass that TDI test too. Mom has me trained well...

    Love,
    Rudy

  4. We're crossing our fingers and paws for all the people and pets in the hurricane's path. It is so scary to think about what they have to face.

  5. I thought a lot about all the pets down in the Gulf and was hoping that none would be left behind and that if they were, the humans wouldn't be gone very long.
