Hikes can be made up of some very contemplative and eye opening moments if you let 'em....so I thought I'd share a few of the things I was thinking about after our six mile hike yesterday:
Live life with anticipation and take in all the good stuff. You don't want to miss a thing!
Take time to smell the good things in life...you can learn a lot about yourself and others in these moments.
You never know what lies ahead, so be prepared to enjoy it!
Clean up your messes, you don't want to leave doo for others :)
Make sure to look up, you may miss something if you've always got your nose to the ground!
When you're not sure which way to go, follow your gut and your heart!
No matter what, keep on smiling, it will help you get through the challenging times.
Life's a lot like a river, it just keeps on flowing...fast and slow, ruff and smooth, around and over ...and it never gives up.
Don't take life too seriously, you may miss out on all the fun!
If life throws you a curve, flow with....there's lots to learn in the curves.
If you're unsure about something, why not investigate...it could be the best thing that ever happened to you! (What is that?)
Follow the rules, but make your own rules too! Being unique makes you special.
Life's a journey, not a destination. Enjoy it, you never know what's around the bend.
When the time presents itself, jump in with all fours, believe me you won't regret it!
Above all, have fun! It's the only life you've got :)
Hope you enjoyed my little hike this past weekend :) And I hope you had a pawsome weekend too!
Good rules. Also Tika and Boost point out: Remember to stop and smell the coyote poop. (You can learn a lot from s**t that you encounter.)
ReplyDeletethose are all excellent points to remember ...mom and I do this all time when we go on walks - she loves to ponder and think - me, I am all about the smells which are the really good part.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice post, Johann! You're such a contemplative guy! Thanks for reminding us to enjoy life! Love the crunching leaves sound on the video!
ReplyDeleteThis weekend has been really good weather too! Hope you got out hiking again!
Hope you had a GReat Thanksgiving! Those are words of wisdom from your hike.
ReplyDeleteThat woz very deep, Johann, and I shall reflect upon all of those wize things you pointed out when I is hiking! Did you hear my shoutout at ya on turkey day? You has to scroll down a bit coz it taked us a while to get over by you http://shawneetheshep.blogspot.com/2009/11/road-trip-noo-jersey-to-mizzoori.html
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great Turkey Day too! Mom's got some good turkey in the fridge so we're all working on her for some in our FOOD... think it might work if we try hard enough?
ReplyDeleteShe took me and Emmy to one day of a 3-day USDAA trials on Saturday. I had a BLAST! Those rings are so big and the courses so wide open, it makes me crazy and run like a wild man! I blew my A-frame contact so Mom did front crosses in front of A-frames after that so I couldn't do that anymore .. rats.
I DID get my very first Q in Snooker finally (usually I'm too wild) and I beat everybody else -- yea! Emmy was in P1 Snooker and Jumpers and Q'ed both times. Mom says she was great for not doing a thing since August, but since she's 10 1/2 Emmy's not doing much anymore. They stuck some weaves in Snooker and Mom was worried -- Em quit doing weaves a long time ago, but she did them anyway! She forgot she didn't do them .. haha!
We wore Mom out -- good thing, too. Now I can rest up 'til the AKC trials on Friday and Saturday. Wait'll she sees what I have in store for HER...! hahahahahaha..
Love,
Rudy
