World Team tryouts start today!

Today is the first day of the World Team tryouts for the AKC team of 12 dogs that will compete at the FCI World Agility Championships, in Helsinki, Finland on September 26-28, 2008.

Handlers working to earn a spot on the AKC Team are attending the AKC World Team Tryouts, Friday through Sunday at the Hopkins Pavillion in Hopkins, Minnesota. The judges will be Scott Chamberlain and Don Farage.

Eric Larson, of AgilityVision, is covering the tryouts, similar to how he did with the 2007 FCI World Championships. Here is the main link for all the action.
  • Check out this great list of those competing for a chance on the World Team.
  • Eric set up a chat so that everyone watching the vids can communicate.
  • He anticipates that videos will be available on his site just one class behind, not bad Eric!
  • Following the event Eric will put together a DVD with sales proceeds going to help defray costs for the World Team.
Final team selections will be announced by the AKC by the end of May, 2008.

And a big thanks to Eric for doing this, it sure makes agility lots more fun, and we appreciate his hard work. Good luck to everyone competing!

  1. I hope the rottie gets on the team - just because he's unique.
