The scoop on doo!

I am feeling sooooo much better. I had a solid 'output' last night and this morning. And I wanted to run, and run, and run, this morning too! Wow, it feels so good to feel better, I gotta say.

Mum gave me a little kibble this morning with my brown rice, veggie mix (for toddlers) and cottage cheese. Yum, I love my kibble. And she'll be adding in more and more kibble as my feedings progress.

Meanwhile, I was going through my Technorati links and came across this site that linked to us. It's called Speedcat Hollydale, and it's a bunch of (and I'm quoting him) mumbo jumbo. We like mumbo jumbo and were part of that mumbo jumbo recently. (Thanks Speedcat!). He rated my blog and found it to contain a certain 'dirty' word. We still got a G rating, thank goodness, but our dirty word was, yep you guessed it - Poop!

So we started thinking. The state of a dog's 'output' is a very important gauge in our health. We need to talk about it, it's a big (well hopefully not too big) part of our life, right? Off I went to Google to see what all the hubbub is about 'the stuff'! And guess what we found - yep sites dedicated to the word Poop! (Oops I said it again!). We found:
I could go on and on - as you know how it is with Googling. But what I learned? I am convinced that my 'output' is a very important part of me, my life, my family's life and the entire human and canine race!

Love those fruits and veggies link love!

I've always wanted to know all kinds of fruits and veggies I could eat that are safe for us dogs. So I put together this Fruits and Veggies Link Love Project, so we can all have a great list of what's good for us! But please be responsible and do your research (or ask your vet) if the fruit or veggie that you are listing is really safe for us pups, K? We want everyone to be well!

---------------Copy and paste this line and below------------------

There are all kinds of fruits and veggies that are good for us dogs, right? Well, let's make a list! And get some link love in the process.

Instructions:

1.) Copy and paste the matrix of “Fruits/Veggies LinkLove” below, courtesy of Johann The Dog!

2.) Substitute the Host Tag and one of the “Fruits/Veggies” in the matrix with the name of the fruit or veggie and URL of your blog.

3.) Be sure that the fruit or veggie that you list is REALLY safe for dogs. Do your research, K?

4.) When you get a ping back from someone that has your link in one of their “Fruits/Veggies”, practice good paw by copying his/her Host Tag’s anchor text (automatically the associated link will also be copied) and paste it over one of your “Fruits/Veggies” below.

5.) Encourage and invite your readers to do the same and soon this can grow fast. And if your not a dog, but your blog about dogs you are also welcome to participate - just make sure you do your research! Safety first!

Host Tag: Blueberries - JohannTheDog

1. Blueberries - JohannTheDog
2. Bananas - Tip Tail
3. Apples - The Adventures of Spencer: Sticker Dog's Mascot's Blog
4. Oscar the Airedale - cherries
5. Pears - Dog Topics - pears are great, but don't let your dog eat the pips!
6. Watermelon - Good Bloggie! - remove seeds or buy seedless melons
7. Cantaloupe - The Dog Dish
8. Fruit
9. Fruit
10. Fruit
11. Fruit
12. Fruit
13. Fruit
14. Fruit
15. Fruit
16. Carrots - Utah Collie Rescue
17. Tomatoes - Ayla the Newf - I'd like to note that green tomatoes and the plants themselves are not safe for them to eat but ripe tomatoes should not be a problem.
18. Sweet Potato - Furbaby Frenzy
19. Cabbage - My Paw Prints on the Web
20. Kale: Fuzzy Logic
21. Veggie
22. Veggie
23. Veggie
24. Veggie
25. Veggie
26. Veggie
27. Veggie
28. Veggie
29. Veggie
30. Veggie

Important: Once I get a ping back from you (I promise to do the best I can), I will add your anchor text and the associated link you designate as “Host Tag” here, replacing one of the “Fruits/Veggies” from the matrix above. As more and more doggie bloggers copy and paste this matrix, the more backlinks you will have with your anchor text. If everybody who copies and pastes from your blog does the same, pretty soon this will spread and go viral. So, the sooner you participate, the more links with anchor text you will receive.

There it is folks. This should help you improve your Technorati ranking, SERP and Google PR and get you noticed with more blogs - we all like making friends, right? Please leave a comment here if you have copied from this matrix so that I can add you just in case your ping-back didn’t reach me.

Remember, before giving anything to your dog, research or ask your vet if the food is safe. Obligatory disclaimer: No entities and individuals participating or involved in this project will be liable for any injury or illness that could arise from feeding your dog the items listed and included in this list. Practice responsibility, K?

Casper needs some help!

One of our fellow dog blogging buddies needs some help. Casper is suffering from Evans Syndrome which is a combination of Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia and Autoimmune Thrombocytopenia. There are conditions wherein his red blood cells and platelets are being destroyed by his own immune system.

His family is having a tough time with the medical bills and so they've put together an auction to help raise money! There are some really cool pup related items in the auction, which starts bidding on July 14th. If you'd like to donate items, they are being accepted through July 13th, so there is still plenty of time to get those items listed. And don't forget to mark your calendars for July 14th to check out the auction.

If you can't participate in the auction, you can still send good well wishes and cards.

Life is Good!

Mum's favorite t-shirts in the entire world are from Life Is Good. She absolutely loves them and wears them to work everyday (except when she has meetings with clients, of course).

They are soft, they are very easy to take care of and launder. They never shrink and last for a long time! There are loads of designs and styles!

So when Mum had the opportunity to add them to my site, we jumped at the chance. And the best part is we are offering them through eBay so you can get them at a lesser cost than you would pay in a retail store.

Want to see more? Click here and see all the shirts and items available from Life Is Good. Or you can visit our website - JohannTheDog.com - to see our entire section devoted to Life Is Good. Just click and go to the 'clothing' and 'Life Is Good' section.

And don't forget! We donate 10% of our profits to dogs rescue

We hope you enjoy them as much as my Mum does!

Back from the trial and an update on my tummy!

Last night I was feeling pretty good. Did a little bird herding and jumped all over the neighbor. And this morning I felt pretty good too. So we took off for the trial this morning. Mum thought I was getting kind of depressed and needed some fun.

The trial was only 20 minutes away and only two runs; so we thought we'd play it by ear. I had my breakfast - cottage cheese and brown rice and off we went. My first run (Standard) was at about 9:00 AM and we ran pretty well; clean and a Q. I didn't run my usual fast, but I did OK for not feeling so hot the past few days. Then we ran our JWW run about Noon. I was pretty slow, but we were running good. Then I came up on the triple and plowed right into it. Just could get my 'ump' going. But otherwise it's wasn't too bad a run.

After that I was really tired and we headed home. Slept for a while, then went out to check on the mice that have made their home at the corner of the fence. Yep they are still there! One day I'm gonna get me one of those little squirmy things.

Mum talked with a few folks at the trial about gastroenteritis. Seems a few dogs have gotten it lately. Although it was a more dangerous form, called hemorrhagic gastrenteritis or HGE.

One of our buds got that nasty form when she was boarded at the kennel, and had to stay overnight in the ICU with an IV. Yikes, very scary for her and her Mum. And we found out that about two years ago an agility sheltie died from HGE. It's pretty dangerous stuff.

Here are a couple of links for HGE, if you'd like more information:

Veterinary Q & A: HGE
Hemorrhagic gastroenteritis

Luckily I don't have that form, and am getting well pretty fast. Still have to stay on the bland diet for a few more days. Then Mum is going to gradually get me back on my Fromm's Chicken Ala Veg - regular food.

Gotta get well, 'cause I have another trial next weekend!

I'm feeling a little better!

I have to say I'm feeling a little better. I've been resting a lot. But this afternoon, I herded a few birds and played with my soccer ball - while Mum occupied Gracie with the hose (she is manic with that thing!).

This morning was the first time I got some 'solid' (if you want to call it that) food. Here is my diet for the next four more days:

Early AM - cottage cheese and brown rice
Mid AM - yogurt and baby food veggies and brown rice
Noonish - rice milk and yogurt with a little cottage cheese
Mid PM - cottage cheese and brown rice
Early evening - yogurt and baby food
Evening - rice milk and cottage cheese
Later evening - baby food

Yep that's it - although Mum says she gonna cook me up some noodles and give it to me with chicken and veggie broth. Now that doesn't sound too bad.

So here is my food.....

Looks real appetizing doesn't it - NOT!!!

Oh well, some of it isn't so bad - and a guys gotta do what a guys gotta do.

Mum has decided since I have more energy today that we may just go to the trial today. A couple of our friends called and were worried about where we were, which was so nice! It's AKC so we would only have two runs, one early in the AM and then another one at about 11:30 AM. We'd get home by 1:30 or so. So Mum thinks it may be OK. We'll see in the AM though for sure.

I've been interviewed!

The nice folks at Bloginterviewer.com interview all kinds of great bloggers on the Internet. And today they interviewed me! I'm one lucky dog.

Be sure and stop by to read the interview here and rate it, K?

Now, if I could just get rid of this stomach ache!!!!

Wow - I feel horrible!

Well this gastroenteritis stuff is lousy! I feel horrible. All I've done today is watch my Mum work, lay around, and sleep. I don't want to go anywhere, do anything, or even tease the cats.

As per Aunt Bonnie's (our vet) instructions, I've only had a couple of teaspoons of chicken broth every two hours for about 12 hours now. And that will last until in the morning. Then Mum's cooking me up a wee bit of brown rice and cottage cheese which will be my first meal (if you want to call it that) tomorrow morning and every three hours after. And that will go on for five days.

Had more "Big D" a little while ago. I felt a little better after that, but then I just wanted to sleep again.

Mum called the vet to ask more questions. The weekend is coming up and she wanted to know what to watch out for that would be an emergency. She likes to be prepared when it comes to my health.

Pretty sure we won't be going to the trial this weekend. Pretty sad 'cause Mum and I really wanted to go. No refunds, so we lost about $65.00. That's too bad, too. I'm signed up for a three day trial the following weekend. So I gots to get better before then!!!!

Thanks for all your well wishes. We appreciate it. I'm off to take another nap now......
